This means Bitcoin will never experience inflation. Therefore, the total number of Bitcoins in circulation will approach 21 million but never actually reach that figure. At the moment, that reward is 12.5 Bitcoins. He (or they) reached that figure by calculating that people would discover, or "mine," a certain number of blocks of transactions each day.Įvery four years, the number of Bitcoins released in relation to the previous cycle gets reduced by 50%, along with the reward to miners for discovering new blocks. Satoshi Nakamoto, the founder of Bitcoin, ensured that there would ever only be 21 million Bitcoins in existence. And that work comes in the form of mining.īut let's take a step back. Like any other form of money, it takes work to produce them. There are thousands of cryptocurrencies floating out on the market now, but Bitcoin is far and away the most popular.īitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies don't just fall out of the sky. There had been several iterations of cryptocurrency over the years, but Bitcoin truly thrust cryptocurrencies forward in the late 2000s. Blockchain tech offers a way to securely and efficiently create a tamper-proof log of sensitive activity (anything from international money transfers to shareholder records).īlockchain's conceptual framework and underlying code is useful for a variety of financial processes because of the potential it has to give companies a secure, digital alternative to banking processes that are typically bureaucratic, time-consuming, paper-heavy, and expensive.Ĭryptocurrencies are essentially just digital money, digital tools of exchange that use cryptography and the aforementioned blockchain technology to facilitate secure and anonymous transactions. Think of it as a kind of highly encrypted and verified shared Google Document, in which each entry in the sheet depends on a logical relationship to all its predecessors. Essentially, it's a shared database populated with entries that must be confirmed and encrypted. Blockchain tech is actually rather easy to understand at its core.

While the caffeine content is lower than that of regular coffee, it’s still present. The decaf espresso contained 3–15.8 mg per shot, while the decaf coffee had 12–13.4 mg of caffeine per 16-ounce (473-ml) serving. The researchers also purchased Starbucks decaffeinated espresso and brewed coffee and measured their caffeine content. In comparison, an average 16-ounce (473-ml) cup of regular coffee packs approximately 188 mg of caffeine ( 12). All but one contained 8.6–13.9 mg caffeine, with an average of 9.4 mg per 16-ounce (473-ml) cup ( 7). One study analyzed 16-ounce (473-ml) cups of drip-brewed decaf coffee from nine US chains or local coffee houses. Thus, those avoiding caffeine should be careful. Researchers suggest that drinking 5–10 cups of decaf coffee could accumulate the amount of caffeine in 1–2 cups of regular, caffeinated coffee ( 8). While even 7 mg of caffeine may seem low, it could be of concern for those who have been advised to cut their intake due to kidney disease, anxiety disorders or caffeine sensitivity.įor susceptible individuals, even small amounts of caffeine could increase agitation, anxiety, heart rate and blood pressure ( 9, 10, 11). On average, an 8-ounce (236-ml) cup of decaf coffee contains up to 7 mg of caffeine, whereas a cup of regular coffee provides 70–140 mg ( 8). Studies have shown that virtually all types of decaf coffee contain caffeine ( 7, 8). The caffeine content of your decaf coffee likely depends on where your coffee is from. There are three methods of decaffeinating the beans and all result in a milder product compared to regular coffee. Summaryĭecaf coffee means that the coffee beans are at least 97% decaffeinated. However, the decaffeination process does alter the smell and taste of coffee, resulting in a milder flavor and different color ( 6). Overall, the type of roasted coffee you buy will affect the flavor more than the decaffeination method.
In the above cartoon, the little boy holding his plate of food, is asking his dad, “How much did all this cost?” and the answer, rather than being about the food, shows what looks to be a military cemetery such as the one in Arlington, Virginia, but it could be any veterans’ cemetery anywhere. It started me thinking, and I thought I’d share it here as well, to pass along a very important reminder on this Memorial Day. Although it was a cartoon, and cartoons are often funny, this one really had a powerful message. Last week on Facebook a cartoon was posted by the official page for “Wreaths Across America” and it really caught my attention. Cowart, kids, picky eaters, recipes, Seinfeld, shopping on a budget, strawberries, strawberry salad, summer, The Big Salad See what you have in your house and throw it all in there! So the next time you’re at a loss for what to make, consider The Big Salad. The salad above has lettuce, olives, craisins, cheddar cheese, strawberries and grape tomatoes. I like hearing my family say that the love this part or that part of the salad. I often get tired of the traditional lettuce/tomato/cucumber salad, and throwing in random “stuff” makes it more fun to serve and eat. The thing I like about salads is 1) you can put just about anything you want in them and 2) people can eat what they want to and skip the rest that they don’t like, so basically it’s something everyone likes. The one shown here is one we made a few weeks back. But it also reminded me of The Big Salad episode on Seinfeld and the fact that we often will make a Big Salad ourselves either as the dinner or to go alongside the dinner. I recently got one of those emails for a Wonderful Berry Salad and when I clicked on it to see, it was a Raspberry Walnut Dinner Salad which looked so good and reminded me of my Strawberry Salad from a few weeks back. More information than we needed to know about that episode, and there’s even more if you click on the link to the page itself if you so desire, but that’s not crucial today’s post. This was the second episode for the sixth season. I’m sure your family and friendsgiving guests will certainly say, “it's a salad, only bigger, with lots of stuff in it.You can load almost anything into a salad.Īnyone remember the episode with “The Big Salad?” According to The Big Salad’s very own Wikapedia page, “” The Big Salad” is the 88th episode of the NBC sitcom Seinfeld. Bonus! This is a dish that keeps so leftovers can easily turn to into a healthful side to compliment the impending feast. Loaded with big flavors and big benefits like fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and a tasty crunch, this salad is the perfect Thanksgiving eve meal. Just like our favorite fictional female voice, “The Big salad” is delightful, balanced, a little nutty, and will always be the memorable side dish you that could have been the entire meal. With Turkey Day approaching and in the spirit of the festivus season, I decided not to wonder anymore and create Elaine’s enviable salad for all of you. I always fantasized it to be a power salad, rainbow in color and hefty in weight meant to effortlessly match our favorite copy editor’s oversized 90’s power suits. What we don’t know is what exactly was in it. For 9 delicious seasons we watched Elaine Benes order “the BIG salad” every single time the dysfunctional foursome of Seinfeld dined at Monk’s. The motor in this thing is strong and I have not experienced any nips. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it did (keep in mind I do not grow thick facial hair). So far I’ve used the nose trimmer (works just fine) and the shaver piece (amazing), which gets a very clean shave. This has a great weight to it and you can just feel that it is well made. This glowing review on Amazon summarizes it well: “The build quality is very solid. A four-hour battery life puts it ahead of most competition, and a quick one-minute charge gives you five minutes of use if you need a last minute touch-up. It also has a five-year warranty, which guarantees a long-lasting investment. It draws clean lines wherever you need them-be it the mustache, cheeks or neck-and its beautiful stainless steel framework shines on your vanity. In addition to cleaning up the beard, eyebrows, nose and sideburns, it’s also a great chest, groin and back trimmer. Wahl’s trimming device, with its 12 trimming lengths and styles, is a close second best for beards but is the frontrunner as a full-body groomer.
If they weren't in a Sonic game, I can guarantee you that people would not them. They're a slower paced platforming beat em up, they are a little out of place for a Sonic game, but from a gameplay perspective, there is nothing wrong them. This is where most of the hate towards unleashed comes from. These are the same level in both games, and you'll see every difference I've talked about. However, the PS2 is still pretty good, it's a little stiff, and not as fast as the other game, but it's still fun to play. The PS3 is much better than the PS2, the gameplay is faster, smoother, more fun, the levels are much better, it's just much better. As for the levels, while they have the same general setting (IE tropical jungle ruins, European town, Chinese temple, etc.), they look completely different. I will go into this a bit more in a future post. Why is it not set to the jump button like literally every other Sonic game!? The PS2 does a much better job at not only the homing attack button placement, but the second jump itself. The PS3 does most of the button placements better, except for one my biggest complaint with the PS3 version is that the homing attack is set to. The PS2 version has boost set to O and stomp/slide/drift set to. As for the buttons, both games have odd choices. For some reason, in order to drift on the PS2 you have to use the slide button compared to the R2/L2 drift. Sonic on the PS2 is actually really stiff whereas the PS3 Sonic is really responsive, smooth, and quick. The PS2 has more of a burst of speed, meaning you press it once to boost for a second whereas the PS3 version is much more akin to Generations, which is constant, steady boosts. For starters, the boosts are completely different. Let me just tell you, they're not the same. You try to reach the goal ring, you can boost, homing attack, slide, drift, and sidestep. On paper, both day stages between the 2 games sound like the same thing. But seriously the opening cutscene is incredibly epic and is probably my favorite opening cutscene in gaming. As much as I hate to admit it, the Sonic series has some bad cutscenes: Adventure, Adventure 2, Heroes, Colors, Lost world, etc. Like I said, it's the best story in the series and the cutscenes are also the best in the series. Yes, it's cool, but how does stretchy arms go with werewolves?) at night, and his incredible speed in the day, he must bring the 7 Chaos emeralds to each of the Gaia temples across the globe to restore their power and put the world back together. So with his newfound form with great strength and stretchy arms (I don't understand this. After surviving the fall (what I'd tell you), he meets a new character named Chip who has lost all his memories. Eggman then sends Sonic (and the Chaos Emeralds) plummeting towards the surface to his doom but if past games have any indication, Sonic will unrealistically survive this fall. After a premature awakening, Dark Gaia can't sustain his own weight and collapses and spreads across the planet. Eggman then uses that energy into a cannon to literally shatter the planet to awaken Dark Gaia, basically like this god of darkness, from the Earth's core. Eggman tricks Sonic into a stasis field and drains the Emeralds of their energy, while also somehow turning Sonic into the Werehog. When Eggman grabs Sonic, Sonic turns Super in the first 30 seconds of the game and destroys his armada. You start off in this incredibly epic opening on an armada of ships on the edge of space, Sonic facing of against tons of robots, then Eggman appears in a mech. The story as well as the cutscenes is hands down the best in the entire series. So are you ready? Let's Begin!īefore I go into the differences between the game, let's talk about the story. Also, so I'm not steadily being redundant by saying "Sonic Unleashed PS2/Wii" and "Sonic Unleashed PS3/Xbox 360" over and over again, I'm simply just going to call them the PS3 version and the PS2 version. Instead of doing individual reviews of each game, I decided to just compare each version while still reviewing each game at the same time. Both versions are really good and one is fantastic. Sonic Unleashed has not been received by critics very well, but let just say how WRONG they are. Gameplay, levels, cities, even the menu system, and so much more. We're not talking about Super Mario 64 and SM64 DS different, we're talking SM64 and Super Mario Sunshine different! The only thing these games have in common is the story, music, locations, bosses, and similar gimmicks. Despite having the same name, they are 2 entirely different games. For those who are not familiar, they are 2 different versions of Sonic Unleashed, one on the PS2/Wii and one on the PS3/Xbox 360. Forces comes out literally tomorrow, and I'm ecstatic! And just today I've finished my 10 game Sonic marathon. The ebook takes time to upload depending on the internet speed. If the ebook is stuck on processing, wait for some time.
